About Us
So what can Somerfield Contractors Ltd do for me?
We undertake total refurbishment of domestic
and commercial properties for Loss Adjusters,
Insurance Companies, Structural Engineers, Architects, Local Authority, Housing Associations and, of course, Private Homeowners.
We cover a large geographical area incorporating Surrey, Hampshire, Sussex and the surrounding areas and have liability insurance of £5,000,000.
Our friendly workforce have been employed by CCP for several years and cover a whole range of trades including bricklaying, carpentry, decorating, electrics, plastering, plumbing, roofing and all other associated skills.
All our estimates are prepared by either our qualified Surveyor or our Estimator. Once your project has been completed, a Manager visits the property to ensure the client is satisfied with the works. This is how we obtain
our repeat business, as we will not leave until the
customer is 100% satisfied.

Corgi
In 1968, the 22-storey Ronan Point apartment block in Canning Town, London, was devastated by a massive gas blast that claimed five lives. The tragedy led to a determination to protect the public from unsafe gas installations. CORGI was duly founded in 1970 as the Confederation for the Registration of Gas Installers, and was given the task of ensuring that gas work was carried out safely.

Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme
Over the years local authority health and safety and procurement professionals, with the support of the Health and Safety Executive, have developed the Contractor Health and Safety assessment scheme (CHAS). The scheme is available for use by any public and private sector organisations to use when shortlisting contractors, suppliers and consultants (companies) who apply to work for them. It provides information about the health and safety part of their application. Companies apply to join the scheme so everyone knows they meet acceptable standards of health and safety compliance.
Investor in People
Investor in People
We are proud that Beech Builders has gained recognition for the prestigious Investor in People award in December 2005. It focuses on three key factors to improve the overall performance of the company, namely PLAN, DO and REVIEW. Within these three elements we focussed on involving the entire company in developing the business plan, in turn this helped with staff motivation to execute the plan and by key performance indicators we can make sure that we stay on target with our objectives and goals. Some of the highlights of the implementation of the Investors in People standards were the introduction of our Job Chats, a simple and non-threatening approach to job appraisals and Breakfast with Le Roux, the quarterly breakfast meeting with the entire company to improve communication from top management through to the operatives.
